What is the SI GRIDLOK 3rd Gen?

It's a CNC aluminum handguard with a clamp-on quick detach system. You press the latch, slide it off, and the whole rail comes free for battery changes, barrel cleaning, or transport. The 8.5" length hits the sweet spot for CQB and mid-length builds, long enough to stretch your grip forward, short enough that you don't bang it on every doorway.

Why upgrade from stock?

Stock handguards are usually plastic, heavy for what they are, and barely have mounting points. Is it really metal?
